Use the Smartphone Digital Creation Kit to upgrade your broadcasting and recording. Connect the external mini microphone to your device to record sound with clarity. Multiple tripods and mounts, including a camera cage, offer stability and mobility to create or broadcast video content. Compatible with Apple, Android and other smartphones/tablets up to 5.31″ wide.

Instructions

To Use with the Camera Cage:

  1. Set your device in the verse grip (1).
    1. For small devices, use the deployable arms in the verse grip as the bottom rest.
    2. Lower the top claw and press firmly to secure.
    3. Slide the lock down to the “locked” position.
    4. Check that the device is secure. If adjustment is needed, slide the lock to the “unlock” position, press the button below to release the top claw, and repeat the steps above.
  2. Connect the camera cage (2): Insert the verse grip(1) into the camera cage(2) and secure using the screw at the base of the cage.
  3. Choose your tripod: The kit contains two tripods, the X-Pod (3) and the G-Pod (4). Screw the tripod into the bottom of the camera cage (2). For shooting vertically, screw the tripod into the center hole of either of the camera cage’s handles.
  4. OPTIONAL: Set up the mini mic (6):
    1. Slide the mini mic either directly onto the top of the verse grip (1) or onto the cold shoe adaptor (5), which can be screwed in and mounted using any of the 12 holes found around the camera cage (2).
    2. Turn the dial at the base of the mini mic to secure.
    3. Connect the mini mic (6) to your device using the mic cable (7). For phones with a lightning port, use the earphone adaptor (8).
    4. Interested in using headphones to monitor the sound? Use the dual mic/headphone splitter (9). The mic cable (7) should be connected to the port labeled with the mic symbol. Plug in your headphones to the port labeled with the headphone symbol. Connect the other end into your device’s audio port.
  5. Create your content.

To Use Without the Camera Cage

  1. Set your device in the verse grip (1).
    1. For small devices, use the deployable arms as the bottom rest.

  2. Choose your tripod: The kit contains two tripods, the X-Pod (3) and the G-Pod (4). Screw in the tripod into the bottom of the verse grip (1).
  3. OPTIONAL Setup the mic (6):
    1. Slide the mini mic either directly onto the top of the verse grip (1).
    2. Turn the dial at the base of the mini mic to secure.
    3. Connect the mini mic (6) to your device using the mic cable (7). For phones with a lightning port, use the earphone adaptor (8).

Troubleshooting

There’s too much ambient noise

Depending on the environment, a certain amount of ambient noise may be unavoidable. Try to keep the microphone as close as possible to the subject.
