Top 10 most popular library items (ever)

It’s the start of a brand new year and instead of listing my resolutions (most of which I have already broken), I will indulge myself in another “bestseller” Princeton Public Library list. In the past I have made lists of the most popular books, music CDs, and DVDs at the library. This time I will list the ten items with the highest circulation numbers for all time. These ten titles have proven to be incredibly popular over the years and, even though they may be a bit worn, they are still being checked out. But don’t worry, I am looking into getting new copies of all of them.

I am in charge of the music CD collection so the fact that all ten of our most popular items are CDs is a source of pride for me. Without futher ado, the Top Ten:

10. “Messa da Requiem” by Guiseppe Verdi (257 checkouts)

9. “Creeque Alley” by The Mamas and the Papas (259 checkouts)

8. “Slowhand” by Eric Clapton (263 checkouts)

7. “My Fair Lady” music by Frederick Loewe (267 checkouts)

6. “Ella in Rome” by Ella Fitzgerald (267 checkouts)

5. “West Side Story” music by Leonard Bernstein (269 checkouts)

4. “The Jazz Masters: 27 Classic Performances from the Columbia Jazz Masterpieces Series” (281 checkouts)

3. “The Unique Thelonious Monk” by Thelonious Monk (295 checkouts)

2. “Joan Baez” but Joan Baez (320 checkouts)

and coming in at Number One with a staggering 398 checkouts:

1. “James Taylor’s Greatest Hits” by James Taylor

Feel free to reserve any or all of these CDs and check out our new CDs in our music area. Happy listening and happy new year!
