We invite you to check out this month’s PPL Youth Services recommendations for activities, resources and new books in the library collection for children up to 5 years old and their families.
It’s summer reading time! Complete 15 of 20 early literacy activities to complete summer reading and earn prizes. Beginning June 15, sign up online or visit the Youth Services Information Desk on the third floor, and we’ll have paper logs available in English and Spanish. Summer Reading 2023 ends Aug. 15, so be sure to log your completed activities by then to be eligible for prizes. Prizes include a free book to keep forever, a gift certificate to the library’s book store and a choice of a gift certificate to a local vendor for a summer treat. Last day to claim prizes is Sept. 5, while supplies last.
Princeton Community Pride Picnic
Celebrate Princeton’s LGBTQIA+ community with music, art activities and neighborhood nonprofits at this family-friendly event on Saturday, June 3, noon – 3 p.m. (rain date is June 4). Families are invited to gather in the green space of Palmer Square to enjoy live music featuring Sarah Donner and School of Rock Princeton; learn to be a “hoop star” with Angela from Color Me Hoopy; participate in creating a collaborative community art project; take part in a variety of activities; and go home with fun giveaways. Bring a picnic dinner or pick up a bite at one of the many dining options available on-site.
