About the Artist

Artist Bio

Mukti is a New Jersey-based artist from India who is a graphic designer by profession. Upon moving to the United States several years ago, she decided to continue her career in graphic design, but to pursue the urge to paint with colors on blank canvas that has always been a part of her life. She keeps her passion going by exhibiting her collections and selling paintings.

During the pandemic, Mukti started spending more time in her studio and outdoors amidst nature. She painted every single day and became inspired to explore her art at a much deeper level. Thus began her journey to share the joy of her creations with the world.

Mukti loves exploring different mediums of art creation and challenging herself to learn. All her artistic ideas and inspiration come from imagination, photography and travel. She is an artist who is in awe of life and is mesmerized by nature, colors and texture in any form.

Oil paint is her favorite medium, but Mukti also works with pastels, watercolor, acrylic, ink and mixed media. Her passion for art has evolved over the years as she explores different mediums and the possibility of creating something new each time. Her love for colors and texture is evident in her paintings. Her art has evolved through the journey of life.

When she is not at her studio, Mukti can be found walking among nature, listening to music and capturing wildlife on her camera.

Michelangelo’s quote, ”I am still learning,” left a lasting impression on Mukti, such that she became a forever student who learns, explores and shares different mediums of art.

Mukti’s work can be seen on her website at this link and you can also connect with the artist via her Facebook Page.

Artist Statement

Spring is a beautiful season where nature and vibrant colors come to life after a cold, desolate winter. My brushstrokes encapsulate the warmth that comes with spring colors.

Being in nature and surrounding myself with the hues and vibrancy of springtime flowers inspires me. Art for me is meditative, and it gives me immense joy to let loose and enjoy the creative process.

Exclusively for this exhibit, I have captured spring colors through the use of alcohol ink. Alcohol ink has an unpredictable nature that fascinates me: its vibrancy and translucent color radiate its uniqueness.

The exhibit’s spring theme continues in the oil collections where palette knives were used to create a 3-D texture that provides depth and a unique effect. I have showcased oil and ink in this collection, and the opaqueness and translucency of these two mediums create a distinct style.

It is my humble wish to bring the breathtaking gift of nature into homes and offices through my style of paintings in different mediums. I hope you will enjoy my paintings as much as I loved creating each one of them.
