Exhibit Info
Title:
Our Natural World in 8×8 : An Art and Poetry Exhibition
Dates:
April 1-30, 2025
Location:
Lobby, First-Floor Programming Area and Third-Floor Bulletin Board
About:
Our natural world has inspired poets and artists for generations.
For this exhibit, the library and the Princeton Environmental Film Festival committee invited community members and youth of all ages to submit pieces of visual art inspired by a poem written about the environment or our non-human relations therein.
Artists were invited to use a poem they had written or to select a poem that was written before 1924, so that it is part of the public domain, to act as the inspiration for their artwork.
Submissions of any type of art were encouraged as long as it was 8-by-8 inches in dimension or, in the case of sculptures and other 3-D work, able to stand on a flat surface in an 8-by-8-inch square.
