Location:

About:
In 2001, five self-taught visual artists who used the services of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) met with a TASK volunteer to discuss forming an artist cooperative. The idea was to offer all TASK patrons, who possessed artistic interests and talents but did not have the resources to pursue creative activities, a collegial environment in which to hone their talents and sell their artwork.
The artists named their cooperative “The A-TEAM Artists of Trenton” and determined that the group would be run by the artists themselves, and that membership would always be open to all self-taught artists with limited financial means.
During the COVID pandemic, the A-TEAM artists decided to strike out on their own. To honor the change, they renamed their venture “The ANEW Artists’ Alliance.” All decision-making power remains with the artists as does the commitment to serve all self-taught artists with limited financial means. Their artwork is displayed year-round at donated gallery space in Princeton, and their independence from institutional support allows them to keep 100% of the proceeds from sales.
If you would like to purchase artwork, visit the Princeton display space or have questions about the group, please contact the ANEW Artists’ Alliance at anewartists.info@gmail.com.
