What felt like an endless summer is finally over, and I could not be happier. No offense to anyone who prefers the other seasons, but fall is the best. Some of the obvious charms of “sweater weather” are the changing colors of the leaves, the cool, crisp air, warm apple cider, and holidays centered on candy and seasonal foods like pumpkin pie.
Here at the library, we celebrate by offering our Authors of Fall series during these chilly evenings. The diverse group of authors in this series include Princeton University President Christopher Eisgruber, cookbook authors Jyoti and Auyon Mukharji, and science writer Dr. Lisa S. Gardiner.
We also celebrate by decorating the interior of the library. Members of our talented Teen Advisory Board (TAB) have adorned our first floor book return area with paper leaves, pumpkins, and critters with knitted scarves.

The New Nonfiction Books display on the second floor currently features an array of book covers inspired by the season’s rich and warm tones.

The Teen Center on the third floor overlooks Hinds Plaza, where visitors can catch a glimpse of the trees just starting to change into their fall colors. The Teen Center has also been decorated by TAB with fall leaves on most of the columns and walls.

And, for our patrons who are crafty or want to host a fall gathering, we have you covered with some new additions to our collections.
I hope everyone is enjoying the change of seasons, and I hope to see you at the library.
