“Double Vision” is a photo exhibition that explores life through the unique perspectives of a mother and her daughter. Each image reflects their distinct yet interconnected viewpoints, blending the wisdom of experience with the curiosity of youth. Together, their photos weave a heartfelt story of connection, creativity and the beauty of the everyday.

The juxtaposition of their photographs reveals striking contrasts and subtle harmonies, offering viewers a chance to experience the interplay between two generations. Side by side, their images highlight the different ways they interpret the same scenes, from contrasting emotions to complementary details, creating a dynamic dialogue that invites reflection and discovery.

Artist Statement

Ana Govorko:
When my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and my family faced this unimaginable reality, I found myself seeking an escape—a way to momentarily shift focus from the unfolding grief. I turned to my camera.
Through the lens, I discovered not only moments of stillness but also a profound reminder: even amidst life’s deepest sorrows, beauty endures. The act of pausing to truly see became both a refuge and a revelation, pointing beyond personal pain to the vast, enduring wonder of the world around us. Photography became more than a creative outlet—it became a lifeline, a testament to resilience, and a celebration of what remains when everything else feels lost.
Most of the photos are taken with (now already old) Canon RebelT3 camera and iPhone 3,4&5 – no additional editing/apps or Photoshopping. I love the impulse and the natural energy of the situations.

Dora Leah Govorko:
“Blink and you miss it.” This phrase captures the essence of my approach to photography—finding fleeting moments that hold lasting significance. I am drawn to capturing images that evoke warmth and comfort, especially during times when I feel my lowest. These photos are more than just snapshots; they are reminders of beauty and joy, moments that offer solace when I need it most. Each image is a small treasure, a glimpse of something that, in its quiet simplicity, brings me peace and reflection long after the moment has passed.

All photos taken with iPhone 5, 14 &15.
