Focus on Fiction – Panel Discussion featuring members of the Tall Poppy Writers

This recording is presented by Princeton Public Library. Amy Impellizzeri, Sadeqa Johnson and Kelly Simmons. discuss the writing life and their most recent books. The Tall Poppy Writers is a cross-genre, cross-publisher women’s author collective.

Amy Impellizzeri, a self-described “reformed corporate litigator,” is an award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction. Her latest novel, “I Know How This Ends,” is a follow up to her bestselling debut, “Lemongrass Hope.” Amy is past president of the Women’s Fiction Writer’s Association, a 2018 Writer-In-Residence at Ms-JD.org, recipient of Ms. JD’s Road Less Traveled Award, faculty member in Drexel University’s master’s program in creative writing and a frequen invited speaker at legal conferences and writing workshop.

Sadeqa Johnson is the award-winning author of four novels. Her accolades include the National Book Club Award, the Phillis Wheatley Book Award, and the USA Best Book Award for Best Fiction. She is a Kimbilio Fellow and a former board member of the James River Writers. Originally from Philadelphia, she lives near Richmond, VA, with her husband and three children.

Kelly Simmons is a former journalist, advertising creative director and the author of six novels sold in a dozen countries: “Standing Still,” “The Bird House,” “One More Day,” “The Fifth of July,” “Where She Went” and “Not My Boy.” She teaches in the Drexel University master’s program, and is a member of WFWA, Tall Poppy Writers and The Liars Club, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping fledgling novelists.
