Are you giving or getting a new device this holiday season? Perhaps you already own a tablet, laptop or smartphone and haven’t yet taken the plunge into the world of digital downloading. If accessing eLibrary content is foreign territory to you or your loved ones, never fear! The Princeton Public Library is here to help.
PPL offers many ways to become familiar with ebooks, music, magazines, and more that you can access on your device almost anywhere. To begin you will need:
- Your preferred device (computer, smartphone, etc)
- Your library card number (on the back of your PPL card)
- Your 4-digit PIN number (typically the last 4 digits of your telephone number)
You can get started all on your own from our eLibrary resources page. This is where you can browse the many digital content providers the library offers and connect to their individual websites. Much of our digital content can also be found simply by searching the PPL catalog, though you will ultimately need to register/log in with the corresponding provider to obtain the content. Each content provider offers guides to get you started as well as troubleshooting help to assist you along the way.
If you would prefer individual assistance in downloading our digital content we offer several convenient options:
Learn to Download Our Digital Content workshops – Our workshops are held once a month and provide you with an hour of individual learning alongside one of our highly skilled librarians. The content of the workshop is tailored to your needs. To see which dates are available and to make a reservation, call the Adult Services department at (609) 924-9529 x220 or email refstaff@princetonlibrary.org.
Librarian by Appointment – If you are unable to meet with us during one of our workshops PPL also offers one-on-one assistance by appointment. Complete our appointment request form and a member of the Adult Services department will contact you to schedule a date and time. Beyond downloading digital content, our librarians are happy to meet with you to discuss any library or research related questions.
Ask Us – If you have a quick question or need a basic introduction to our eLibrary, contact us via phone, email, or chat. You may also visit the 2nd floor Information Desk and speak to one of our helpful staff members.
