Nothing says “summer” quite like relaxing on the beach with an umbrella drink in hand and that book you’ve been wanting to read all spring. And nothing says “buzzworthy” quite like a gathering of the most popular chick lit authors of the season. Put them both together, and you have the perfect recipe for a fun girls’ night out! Join us on Friday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m. for our summer reading kickoff event, Beach Reads Night!
This is summer reading at its most fabulous! Together with Chick Lit Central, the library will present a panel of eight authors to discuss the books they have written that are perfect for summer, as well as share additional titles that are on their must-read lists. Take a look at who will be here:

We are so excited that Amy Bromberg of Chick Lit Central will moderating the panel. Chick Lit Central is one of the premier blogs for fans of the genre (aren’t we all, really?!), with opportunities to read reviews, participate in discussions, and win book giveaways. Chick Lit’s bloggers also offers readers access to unique interviews of their favorite authors. Questions they ask include which songs authors might select to create the perfect soundtrack to their stories, or which actors they might cast if their books turned into films. Love!
After the panel discussion, we will host a book signing on Hinds Plaza, where the newest title by each of our authors will be available for sale by Labyrinth Books. (Note, all of the newest titles will be available for purchase, even those that have not yet been published. Through a special arrangement with publishers, we are able to offer these copies in advance of their release dates!) The excitement concludes with a raffle drawing for several baskets filled with the books as well as beach-related accessories that will come in handy for your next trip to the Jersey Shore.
Of course, a girls’ night out cannot be complete without sweets and bubbly, can it? We’ve got it covered, thanks to generous support from a few Princeton-area vendors! Featured will be gourmet treats provided by Sweetly Spirited Cupcakes; confections provided by Dessert Boutique; sorbet provided by The Bent Spoon; and assorted non-alcoholic, sparkling beverages. Our refreshments will be artfully arranged by Cake It Up Cupcake and Cake Stands of Princeton.
