Demo and drilling and duct work, oh my! It’s been about a month since construction began on 2Reimagine, which is estimated to take six to eight months to complete. The most popular question we have received since the stairwell partition was built is: “How’s the renovation going?” Here’s a sneak peak of what the second floor looks like so far, courtesy of the GoPro cam situated next to our Tower Room, which is directly above the library’s first floor main entrance.https://www.youtube.com/embed/YwFqPHEhT5U
The area you’re looking at is going to be the home of our Computer Commons, Technology Center, Business Center and several neighborhoods of books, including Health & Wellness, Cooking, Philosophy & Religion, and Home. We’ll also have some beautiful, comfortable, collaborative tables and seating.
While we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the redesigned second floor, we are grateful to you for sticking with us and continuing to enjoy the library’s services and spaces this summer. With a higher concentration of people on our first and third floors, the library’s staff has been creative and has worked hard to ensure you have a great experience while you are here. We have extra study tables, comfy reading chairs, computers, and technology services on floor one, periodic times of open study in our Community Room, and two study rooms on floor three, available in a first-come, first-served availability. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to improve your visit.
