Independent Princeton-area schools offering Preschool and Pre-K programs will be in attendance at this annual event at the library on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Parents can streamline the search process by meeting representatives from the schools all in one place. The preschools will provide information about philosophy, programs, availability and the application process. Whether you’re looking for a learning-through-discovery experience, a more academic approach, a parent cooperative, a full or dual language-immersion program, a full or half-day program, or just curious about the different schools in the Princeton area, the fair will help you sort them all out.
Community Helpers Storytime at the library
Beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 16, the library will be hosting a Community Helpers Storytime series on select Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the Story Room. Guest readers will include a police officer, a firefighter, a doctor, and Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert. Please check the online storytime schedule for updates. This special story time series is perfect for children ages 2-5 years old and their caregivers.
Annual Hometown Halloween Parade
Dress up in your best costume and join the Arts Council of Princeton for the Annual Hometown Halloween Parade on Friday, Oct. 25! The fun begins at 5:15 p.m. on Palmer Square before the parade makes its way through Downtown Princeton and ends at the Princeton YMCA. The parade will leave Palmer Square Green promptly at 5:45 p.m. The festivities continue at the YMCA with live music, a bounce house, trunk or treat, food and drink, crafts and family-friendly activities, and more.
Apple Days Harvest Festival Weekends at Terhune Orchards
The go-to place for autumn fun in Princeton is Terhune Orchards. Every weekend during October, families can enjoy pick-your-own apples and pumpkins, live music, pony rides, tractor-drawn wagon rides, pumpkin painting, pedal tractors, visiting barnyard of animals, duck races, discovery barn, a corn stalk maze, hay bale maze and more. Apple Days Harvest Festival Weekends run until the last weekend in October. The farm is open all year.
