Looking forward to the Princeton Children’s Book Festival

I can hardly believe it’s September already. Where did the summer go? September brings us back to school time, crisp fall days and our annual Princeton Children’s Book Festival. For one amazing afternoon, authors and illustrators gather on the Hinds Plaza and our community comes to together to celebrate children’s literature.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 11:00-4:00. With nearly 90 authors and illustrators in attendance there is certain to be something of interest for everyone. This year we are very pleased to welcome the 2014 Caldecott Medal winner Brian Floca who will be presenting his award winning book “Locomotive at 12:30 in the Presentation Tent.

Other notable guests who are joining us include children’s literature historian and Horn Book editor Leonard S. Marcus, legendary author Bruce Coville (“Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher”), past Ambassador of Children’s Literature Jon Scieszka (“Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales”), the elusive and rarely seen Pseudonymous Bosch (“The Secret Series) and tween favorite Wendy Mass (“The Willow Falls Birthday Series).

Dan Yaccarino has created this year’s festival poster that features his character Doug, of the “Doug Unplugged” books. This is the fourth year a nationally recognized illustrator has created unique artwork specifically for our event.

Once again, jaZams will be on hand selling books that can be autographed by your favorite authors and illustrators. We are so happy to continue this wonderful partnership. jaZams supports the Youth Services department by donating a generous portion of the day’s sales.

We hope to see you at this year’s Princeton Children’s Book Festival. For a full list of authors and illustrators and to view the presentations and reading schedule please visit our Festival  website.
