Laura Gehl is the award-winning author of more than 40 books for young readers, including “One Big Pair of Underwear,” the “Peep and Egg” series, and the “Baby Scientist” series. Laura’s newest picture book is “Saving Delicia,” illustrated by Patricia Metola. An introduction to seed banks, “Saving Delicia” is a companion book to “Apple and Magnolia,” which received three starred reviews and was a White Ravens International Children’s and Youth Literature Selection and a Kirkus Best Books of the Year selection. Laura’s other 2024 titles include”Who Laid These Eggs,” a lift-the-flap book; the board books “You’re the Sprinkles on my Ice Cream” and “You’re the Pumpkin in my Pie;” the “Cat and Friends” early reader boxed set collection; and “Snow Is…,” a lyrical picture book celebrating the season’s first snow day. When she is not reading or writing, Laura prefers to be hiking in the woods, traveling, or eating ice cream–sometimes all three at once.
