Application Details

Princeton Public Library is accepting applications from authors interested in participating in an author fair as part of the library’s 15th Local Author Day, to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The author fair takes place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the library.

There are a limited number of spaces available, and application does not guarantee acceptance. This event is open to applications from authors living in Princeton, the Central New Jersey area, and Bucks County, PA, with preference given to those who reside within 20 miles of Princeton Public Library. Priority is given to adult authors of adult fiction or nonfiction, although authors of works for children or teens are also welcome to apply.

All authors must have at least one book to sell that has been published within the last three years (on or after Jan. 1, 2023). Applicants who have previously participated in a Local Author Day author fair must apply with a newer book published after their previously featured title. Submissions may also be considered for forthcoming books that will be published before October 17, 2026 and will be available to sell at the author fair.

The event is an opportunity for authors to gain exposure while showcasing their work in the highly regarded setting of Princeton Public Library. Local Author Day emphasizes networking and skills development for all writers while giving recently published local authors space to display, sell, and sign their books during the author fair. We cannot guarantee sales.

Five authors will be chosen by lottery to have a prerecorded reading video highlighted on the event website and the library’s YouTube page.

Authors are responsible for supplying and selling their own books, and to keep records of all proceeds from sales. APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application deadline for Local Author Day is July 25, 2026.

Authors will be notified of acceptance status the week of August 3, 2026.
