We always dream big at Princeton Public Library, but this summer we’re taking that to a whole new level. This year we are very pleased to announce the return of our summer reading club for adults along with our ever-popular preschool, children and teen programs.
Summer reading has always played a very big role in the exciting programs that the library offers. Beginning June 20 and continuing until Aug. 19, we step up our game with this year’s clubs. Parents and caregivers of infants and preschoolers are invited to join our “Dream Big-Wee Reads” club. Over the course of the summer months, grown-ups and our littlest friends will complete 50 fun and interactive early literacy skills, earning them several rewards and a book.
Children entering grades K-5 can join our “Dream Big-Read!” club. Their goal will be to read 50 hours and collect cool prizes along the way. Upon completion kids will receive a reading medal and have a chance to win a T-shirt.
Teens are invited to “Own the Night.” They will also be challenged to read for 50 hours and have the chance to win prize bags stuffed full with loads of cool things, along the way. Weekly raffles will be held for these must-have bags. Those who complete 50 hours of reading will have their name entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire.
No registration is required for “Between the Covers,” this year’s adult summer reading club. For the first round, we are kicking it old school. To supplement your summer reading stash, every two weeks, we will be giving away a tote bag filled with advance readers’ copies of hot new titles, including some signed by your favorite authors! Earn a chance to win by submitting your book reviews, in person at the Welcome Desk, or by emailing them to: refstaff@princetonlibrary.org. Reviews will be prominently featured on our first floor display table. We will be turning up the heat as the program winds down. Everyone who submits reviews will be entered into the final drawing to win the grand prize, a Kindle Fire.
And, let’s not forget the ice cream to fan the flames. Once again, Thomas Sweet is generously offering us their signature blend-Ins! What a delicious way to celebrate summer and summer reading at Princeton Public Library.
