Check out our digital magazines

In addition to ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, and digital music, we now offer a digital magazine collection of over 70 popular titles, including “The Economist,” “Consumer Reports,” “Elle,” “Popular Photography,” “Martha Stewart Living,” “Bloomberg Businessweek,” “Esquire,” “Shape,” “Newsweek,” and “Food Network Magazine,” that can be easily viewed on a computer or downloaded to a mobile device. And it’s all free with your PPL library card.

So what is this new service? It’s called Zinio for Libraries. Zinio beautifully recreates the experience of reading a print magazine on your computer or mobile device with full-color, page-for-page digital versions. Best of all, there is no waiting. Ever! Our entire Zinio collection is always available to you, when and where you want to read it. There will never be a need for you to put an issue on hold. You have 24/7, unlimited access. Here are some other features of our collection:

  • Issues never “expire.” Check out an issue, and it’s yours until you no longer want it. This means you can keep the issue forever.

  • Once you select a title, you can read it in your web browser, open it on your mobile device, or download it for offline reading. Read it on a train, plane, or automobile!

  • The reading experience includes customized zooming, page-turning, contents-browsing, and keyword searching.

  • With most of the magazine titles, you can email or print articles, as well as share them on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.

To get started, access Zinio by typing princetonlibrary.org/zinio into your web browser or by visiting our eLibrary page and clicking on “Magazines.” Follow the prompts to create and validate your account. Once you select a magazine to download, you will be prompted to complete a second “new user” form with the same email and password you entered to set up your first account. Don’t worry, you will only need to do this once! After logging in this second time, you will be directed to “My Library,” which contains all of the downloaded magazine titles you have selected. You can begin reading simply by clicking on the magazine image.

If you have a mobile device, you will want to download the free Zinio app from your device’s app store. Keep in mind that the Zinio app is solely for reading and storing magazines; it cannot be used for selecting titles. You will want to select titles through your Internet browser via princetonlibrary.org/zinio and then open your app and tap “My Library” to start reading them.
