Adult Summer Reading

FAQ

Who can participate?

Adventure begins at your library. Adults are invited to join us as we celebrate the spirit of adventure through books set in a variety of regions around the world.

How does it work?

Read three books from at least three different regions and be entered into a grand prize drawing. Need book suggestions? Check out our curated lists below.

When does it happen?

Registration begins June 15, and the program ends on Aug. 15. Please log your completed reading by Aug. 15 to be eligible for our prize drawings.

How do I participate?

Pick up a zine log from the Welcome Desk or Information Desk. Complete this form and receive the link to download and print your log. For tips on how to fold your zine, check out Making Zines with the Rutgers Art Library from Megan Lotts, the designer of this year’s summer reading log.

What are the prizes?

The first 50 people to register at either the first-floor Welcome Desk or second-floor Information Desk, beginning June 15, will receive a coupon for a free paperback (value up to $3) from our Friends & Foundation Bookstore. Submit your completed challenges by Aug. 15 and you will be entered into a grand prize drawing for an America the Beautiful National Park Pass. The second place winner will win a print/digital subscription to either National Geographic or The Atlantic. The third-place winner will receive a library tote with library merchandise and advance readers copies.
