Votes for Women: Celebrating the 19th Amendment
The women's suffrage movement celebrated a great victory with the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution on August 18, 1920, although a continuing struggle for further legislation was needed over the coming decades to ensure the voting rights of all women, including Native and African American women.
