Chris and his wife Robin have lived in Princeton for more than 20 years, and both of their children attended Princeton Public Schools. Chris (‘84) and Robin (‘86) are graduates of Princeton University. Chris has been a supporter of children’s education for many years as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Princeton-Blairstown Center, which provides experiential leadership education to underserved young people. Chris has served on the Board of Trustees of the Princeton Public Library since 2021.
Professionally, Chris has more than 40 years of experience in risk management, asset management, financial research, and engineering roles in New York and London. Chris has held senior roles at Edward Jones, TIAA, UBS, The Rockefeller Foundation, Lehman Brothers, and Goldman Sachs.

Sebnem Tuzun, Vice President

Sebnem  has resided in Princeton with her husband and three children since 2016, having relocated from New York. Currently, two of her younger children attend Princeton Public Schools, while her oldest is a sophomore at Rutgers University. In 2023, Sebnem was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Princeton Public Library.

A registered nurse by training, Sebnem has over 20 years of experience as a sales and global marketing professional, driven by a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has a keen interest in cultural anthropology, classical archaeology and ancient history. Additionally, she enjoys technology and strives to keep pace with her children’s tech skills.

Jeffrey Liao, Treasurer

Jeffrey Liao has lived in Princeton with his wife and two children since 2020, where he serves as the sole U.S. patent counsel for a multinational pharmaceutical company.  Originally from East Brunswick, New Jersey, he has worked as an intellectual property attorney in New York, Los Angeles, and Princeton for 20+ years after graduating from Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Law School.  As a second-generation Asian American, Mr. Liao believes that increased civic engagement in the public sphere from all groups in society is necessary to help build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive society, including in the context of public schools and public libraries.  As a Trustee since 2023 and as Treasurer since 2024, he enjoys giving back to the community to help ensure the continued sound management of the library as a cherished community resource and gathering place for all.

Holley Barreto, Secretary

Holley Barreto has proudly served as a Trustee of the Princeton Public Library since 2023. She is the proprietor of Sugar Street Bakehouse, a home bakery. A former social worker focusing on child welfare, Holley has resided in Princeton since 2016 with her husband and two children. 

Mark Freda, Mayor

Mark Freda is a lifelong resident of Princeton, born and raised here.  Mark and his wife Beth, who also grew up in Princeton, raised two children here.  Rebecca and Alex both attended Princeton Public Schools.  Professionally Mark has worked at the former Commodities Corporation, Goldman Sachs, Pfizer, Soros Fund Management and now for Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad.  Mark has spent his entire adult life in service to our community.  Volunteering with organizations such as Princeton Fire Department, Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, the Greater Princeton Chapter of the United States Jaycees, on the Board of the former Youth Employment Service, Chair of the 200th Anniversary Committee of the Princeton Fire Department, Co-Chair of the Spirit of Princeton and on the Board of Trustees of the Dorothea vanDyke McLane Association.  Additionally, he was a member of the former Princeton Boro Council for thirteen years.

Keisha Smith-Carrington, Superintendent’s Designee

Keisha Smith-Carrington is the Supervisor of Humanities for grades 6-12 in the Princeton Public Schools and has been assigned to the role of PPL Trustee by the Superintendent. 

Kushanava Choudhury

Kushanava Choudhury grew up in Calcutta, India and Highland Park, New Jersey. He is a writer, journalist and academic. After graduating from Princeton University, he moved back to Calcutta to work as a newspaper reporter. His first book, The Epic City: The World on the Streets of Calcutta (Bloomsbury USA 2018) was shortlisted for the Sanford Dolman Travel Writing Award and the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize and has been translated into Chinese and Italian. He also has a PhD in political theory from Yale University, and has been a Senior Writing Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and a Ferris Professor of Journalism at Princeton University.

He currently lives in Princeton and has a daughter in Community Park Elementary School.

Robert Ginsberg

Robert Ginsberg was initially the trustee representative of the Princeton Public Schools, where, from July 1988 through January 2022, he served as principal of Littlebrook and Johnson Park Schools and, twice, as interim assistant superintendent.  Since 2022, he’s served as a mayoral appointee.

Bob began his service as a trustee in February 1998 at the original Library on Witherspoon St.  and continued his service during the Library’s temporary move to the Princeton Shopping Center and then upon its return to its current site.  He has served several terms as president and vice president of the board of trustees and on every committee.

Stephanie Oster

Stephanie lives in Princeton with her husband and three sons, who all attend or attended Princeton Public Schools. She is committed to supporting her local community, and also volunteers at Johnson Park Elementary School and is a regular driver for Princeton Mobile Food Pantry. Stephanie works at Princeton University Library as Publicity Manager, promoting the Library’s services, people, events, and exhibitions. Prior to that she worked in the Development Office of Princeton Public Library. Earlier in her career, Stephanie worked at Ernst & Young in a variety of marketing roles in New York and London for nearly 20 years. Stephanie has been a trustee of Princeton Public Library since 2022. She has served on the Bylaws and Policies committee since 2022 and joined the Finance committee in 2025. 

She enjoys cooking, reading, going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, and supporting PPL and its mission to advance knowledge and literacy in the growing Princeton community.
