Author: Sam Daley Harris

This recording is presented by Princeton Public Library in partnership with Labyrinth Books.

Activist and author Sam Daley-Harris discusses the revised and updated version of his book “Reclaiming Our Democracy.”

Democracy only works through people’s involvement, whether it’s civil rights, or climate, or improving elections and government itself. In Sam Daley-Harris’s completely revised and updated 2024 edition of “Reclaiming our Democracy: Every Citizen’s Guide to Transformational Advocacy,” he is focused less on the “broken federal government” than about what he calls “a broken citizenry.” Daley-Harris’s book lays out a proven replicable way to make a difference and heal our democracy in the process. It’s not the only solution needed, but it is one essential, missing piece: citizens awakening to their power.

A book signing will follow the talk with our partners from Labyrinth Books being on site for book sales.

An action fair that will allow participants a chance to interact with a variety of groups that are working at the grassroots level to enact change will take place from 4-5 p.m. on the library’s first floor. The local chapters of the national groups Citizens’ Climate Lobby, RESULTS, American Promise, RepresentUs, Coalition for Peace Action, Not In Our Town Princeton, League of Women Voters of the Greater Princeton Area, and EveryLibrary will be on hand with more to be confirmed.
