Youth Summer Reading

Who Can Participate?

Summer Reading programs for youth are open to preschoolers (birth to Pre-K), kids (rising kindergarten to fifth grade) and teens (rising sixth to 12th graders). This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

How does it work?

For teens and kids, take the 20-day challenge. Read for at least 20 days (in a row or not) to complete your log.

For our preschool participants, do 15 of 20 early literacy activities to complete your log.

Return to the library when you have completed summer reading for prizes (while supplies last).

When Does It Happen?

Summer Reading begins June 15, and the program ends Aug. 15. Please log completed reading and activities by Aug. 15.

Final day to claim prizes is Sept. 6, while supplies last.

How Do I Start?

Sign up for Summer Reading through Beanstack. You will be able to enroll and track your progress through our Beanstack webpage or the Beanstack app available on Google Play and Apple App stores.

Want to keep track offline? Visit the Youth Services Information Desk on the third floor to pick up a paper log, available in English and Spanish. Or, download PDFs for at-home printing: preschool log, kids log, teen log.
