Mental Health 2021: Telling Our Stories, Coping with COVID, and How to Reach Out

This recording is presented in partnership by Princeton Public Library and McCarter Theatre Center. The library and McCarter Theatre Center present a panel discussion about mental health and wellness issues during the pandemic and how to find and access local resources that provide help.

Debbie Bisno, McCarter resident producer, and producer of the digital theater project “The Manic Monologues,” will moderate the discussion that is part of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Panelists include mental health advocate Kimme Carlos, founder and executive director of the Urban Mental Health Alliance: Advocating for Healthy Minds in Urban Communities; Calvin R. Chin, director of counseling and psychological services at Princeton University; and Whitney B. Ross, executive director of Trinity Counseling Services.

McCarter’s “The Manic Monologues” is an interactive web experience that showcases the true stories of resilient people with mental health challenges. It will be utilized as a springboard for a rich conversation on mental health and wellness issues in the current COVID moment and how and where individuals and families can access resources and get help in our local communities.

This event was recorded on May 6, 2021.
