In advance of a March 26 appearance by Richard Powers at Princeton University, librarian Nora Walsh and local activist Dosier Hammond lead a discussion of "The Overstory" by Powers. The Pulitzer Prize-winning novel follows a diverse group of characters whose close relationships with trees, lasting sometimes for generations, lead them to a deep appreciation of the world’s threatened forests.

Intermediate Poetry Workshop

This four-session workshop, conducted by Dara-Lyn Shrager, is open to adults with prior writing experience. Subsequent sessions are on April 15, 22, and 29.  Space is limited, and registration is required.  Registration will begin on March 1. During the workshop, participants will review poetry basics. Over the series, participants will write the first draft of a poem, discuss and implement revision and editing techniques, and complete a second draft. Pencil/pen and paper are required.
