Whiplash Smartphone Film Challenge

March 25, 2017, 11:30 am - 6:00 pm

Calling all budding filmmakers 25 and younger, working individually or in teams! Your mission: Write, shoot and edit a short film, two minutes or less, in just six hours. Meet in the Technology Center at 11:30 a.m. for a list of challenge guidelines and to receive tips for creating and editing your films using your phone and the library’s new iMac computers. At noon, we will reveal the secret element that you will be asked to incorporate into your film. Hint: it will be located on the new second floor. Films will be screened on Saturday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the library, and a panel of judges will award prizes in consideration of technical skills, storytelling, creativity and originality of concept. First prize is $100.

Register at princetonlibrary.org/whiplashchallenge. All registrants present at the library by noon on March 25 will receive a free boxed lunch for each crew member.

* Attendance is not required to participate. The secret element will be emailed to all registrants at noon on March 25.
