Talk: Alexander Huang and Celeste Huang: “The Power of Faces”

November 17, 2019, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Alexander Huang and Celeste Huang, son and daughter of Daniel Huang and Theresa Menders whose photographs are on display on the second floor of the library, give a talk. The two have traveled with their parents to refugee camps around the world and are key members of “The Power of Faces,” a photojournalism project that seeks to humanize the global refugee crisis. Their talk explores the perspective of a younger generation that is actively trying to address the refugee crisis as well as their engagement with younger refugees, including teenagers who have been deprived of school education for years.

Alexander Huang is a junior at The Pennington School, and  Celeste Huang is a sophomore at The George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

Part of the Fall Storytelling series.
