What if forgetfulness were seen not as something to fear but as a blessing, a balm, a path to peace and rebirth? The author discusses his book which offers a playful and inspiring defense of forgetfulness by exploring the healing effect it can have on the human psyche.
Hyde is a poet, essayist, translator, and cultural critic. He is the author of “The Gift,” “Trickster Makes This World,” and “Common as Air.” A MacArthur Fellow and former director of undergraduate creative writing at Harvard University, Hyde taught creative writing and American literature for many years at Kenyon College.
