“A Christmas Carol” Filibuster

December 2, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

In anticipation of the season opening of McCarter Theatre Center’s production of the beloved holiday tale, we will read the Dickens masterpiece aloud from start to finish in this public reading of the 1843 novella.

We will read the entire story from start to finish in the library’s Community Room on Sat. December 2nd starting at 2 pm. All are invited and encouraged to attend—individuals, families, book clubs, and groups—and participate by reading a portion of the book. All reading levels are welcomed!

We are asking for those that sign up to commit to being at the library ten minutes prior to the start of their reading slot and to remain for the full thirty minutes that they are signed up (and hopefully for longer). We will assign 3-5 readers per slot and each reader will read for 7-10 minutes as well as listen to others. Family and friends are encouraged to come see you read. Festive attire encouraged, but not required.

Readers of all reading levels are invited to sign up for a time slot online at bit.ly/CCfilibuster or by calling the library’s Welcome Desk at (609) 924-9529, ext. 1218.

Co-sponsored by the library and McCarter Theatre Center.
