Celebrate Women’s History Month: Picture Books

March is Women’s History Month. Check out this Youth Services staff-curated list of picture books for young children that feature notable women and girls, past and present, and celebrate stories of strong, confident and empowered girls.

More World Language Storytimes!

Two more languages have been added to the library’s world language storytime offerings. In addition to storytimes in Spanish and Japanese, storytime in German kicks off on Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. and bilingual storytime in Urdu and English kicks off on Sunday, March 26, at 4 p.m. All four world language story times take place monthly in the library’s third floor Story Room and are intended for children ages 2  and up with an adult caregiver. Be sure to check our online events calendar for additional dates in upcoming months, as well as the ongoing virtual storytime series Little Pandas for stories in Mandarin available on demand on the library’s YouTube channel.

Pi Day Princeton

Get ready! Pi Day Princeton and Einstein’s Birthday Celebration 2023 promises to be more fun than ever! Every year, the town of Princeton celebrates with an irrational number of events, including a children’s Einstein look-alike contest, Dinky rides with Einstein, pie sampling and many more family-friendly activities. Events take place at various locations throughout downtown Princeton (including the library) and Princeton Shopping Center on Saturday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 14 (Einstein’s birthday). Princeton Tour Company’s website offers a complete list of events with locations and times, including the Einstein Open Archive for Families event happening at the library on March 11.

Design and Create for New Jersey Makers Day

On Saturday, March 25, families with children of all ages are invited to drop by the third floor of the library where there will be craft supplies for designing and creating a project of their choice in celebration of New Jersey Makers Day. This self-guided program will be available from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. that day.

Toddler Time at Stuart

Stuart Country Day School in Princeton is hosting a series of free programs for babies and toddlers up to 4 years old and their caregivers on select Thursdays from 9–9:45 a.m. led by Stuart’s Early Childhood Teachers. The next event is a green-themed scavenger hunt on March 3, followed by a celebration of spring on March 30. Register online to join the fun!
