RBDigital Magazines

Enjoy the library’s digital collection of 60+ of your favorite magazines, available anytime for reading on your computer or downloading to a mobile device. Collection includes a wide variety of news, science, home decorating, travel and literary titles such as The Economist, The New Yorker, Architectural Digest, Bon Appetit, National Geographic Traveler, Dwell, and New York Review of Books, as well as HOLA (Spanish) and L’Express (French).

New for 2019: New Scientist, Bake from Scratch, Olive, (a British food magazine), Columbia Journalism Review, iPhone Life, and Taste (an Australian food magazine),

  • Formerly Zinio for Libraries
  • PPL card holders can create an account with username and password by clicking on Register. Already have an RBDigital account? Click Sign In.
  • Use the RBDigital app to access the collections via tablet or phone. Login with your RBDigital account.
  • Don’t have a library card? View the library’s collection on iPads in the Newsroom labeled Digital Magazine Collection (sorry, the iPads are currently not on display). Ask at the Information Desk if you wish to view a title in this collection.
  • No overdue fees. No checkout limit. Delete titles from your account when finished or keep them forever.
  • NEW for 2019: added accessibility options. Click on the blue button on the right hand side when viewing on a laptop or desktop computer to display an accessibility tool bar with a wide variety of useful options. Sorry, this feature is not available on mobile devices.

The New York Times

The The New York Times provides the latest coverage of business, politics, entertainment, sports and more.

The library provides access inside the library for all visitors, on your computer or device or on ours and also from outside the library for valid PPL library card holders.

IN-LIBRARY USE

  • For access within the library, visit nytimes.com/register .  You will need to create a personal account using your email address and a password you create. You may use your own laptop or mobile device or a library computer to register and/or read the online newspaper. 
  • The New York Times is also available on the iPad in the Newsroom labeled Digital Newspapers. No account is necessary for viewing on these devices.
  • For historical articles, try the New York Times Historical Database, which includes full text articles, advertising, charts, and photos.  Also useful for finding historical stock quotes.

REMOTE USE

  • You must have a valid PPL library card.  Create an account following the instructions above. Contact the Welcome Desk or the 2nd floor Information Desk to receive the special code that allows for 72 hours of access.  At the conclusion of the 72-hour period, you may re-use the same code to get another 72-hours. This code can be used repeatedly.
