In Person

Our events calendar is filled with opportunities to view films ranging from timeless classics to the latest topical documentaries. Many of our film programs feature post-screening talks by filmmakers. The area’s top ensembles performing in every genre can be seen live in free concerts at the library. Recordings

We have a first-rate collection of DVDs to rent and CDs to borrow, spanning all genres. Our film collection contains an outstanding selection of world cinema from all continents, while our wide-ranging music collection has a remarkable number of rare recordings by 20th century and contemporary composers. In addition to our physical collection, movies and music can be downloaded or streamed through our Films on Demand and Hoopla services.

Digital content from Hollywood studios, major-label record companies and publishers can be borrowed for instant streaming to smartphones, tablets, and computers, or for temporary downloading to smartphones and tablets.


Films On Demand

An online digital video delivery service that allows you to view streaming videos from Films Media Group anytime, anywhere, 24/7. Choose from more than 6,500 educational titles in many subject areas relating to the humanities and social sciences. These videos can be viewed in the library, a classroom or at home.

Princeton Environmental Film Festival‘s mission is to share exceptional documentary films and engage our community in exploring environmental sustainability from a wide range of angles and perspectives.


PSFVFlensLogo16Start working on your films for the 14th annual Princeton Student Film Festival in July 2017!  The festival supports the work of youth filmmakers in a range of genres and styles, with the opportunity and a venue for the filmmakers to show their work to a broad audience.


World Cinema


The library prides itself in having an extensive collection of critically acclaimed foreign films available for our customers to enjoy. The world cinema collection is located on the first floor of the library and arranged alphabetically by language.
