Intermediate Poetry Workshop

This four-session workshop, conducted by Dara-Lyn Shrager, is open to adults with prior writing experience. Subsequent sessions are on October 10, 24, and 31.  Space is limited, and registration is required. During the workshop, participants will review poetry basics.  Over the series, participants will write the first draft of a poem, discuss and implement revision and editing techniques, and complete a second draft. Pencil/pen and paper are required.

Poets at the Library

Featured poets Katherine Falk and Winnie Hughes read from their works for 20 minutes each, followed by an open-mic session. Falk was the 2017 Bucks County Poet Laureate. She is the recipient of the H. MacKnight-Black Poetry and Literature Prize and winner of  the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve’s  poetry contest. Her haiku was a runner-up out of 40,000 entries for Japan Airlines’ haiku contest. Her poems have been published in Freshet Anthologies, Schuylkill Valley Journal and U.S. 1 Worksheets.  …

Poetry and Music: Mi Jialu:“Deep Breaths”

Mi Jialu, associate professor in the departments of English and World Languages and Cultures at the College of New Jersey, reads from "Deep Breaths," his recent bilingual book of poetry, with Chinese music accompaniment. Poets at the Library: A Celebration of Poet Jean Hollander

Poetry Brunch Featuring No River Twice

No River Twice presents an improvisational poetry reading during which the poets and audience collaborate to decide the direction of the performance from beginning to end, poem by poem.
