Maker Mondays – Look, Describe, Make!

During this art appreciation workshop, children ages 3 to 7 will examine a range of artworks. Through careful observations, they will analyze and describe artists’ choices, and use their imagination to ask questions about what they see. A hands-on activity will follow. The group is designed so that writers can help other writers of fiction and book-length non-fiction to strengthen characters and story structure.  Participants range from published authors to those looking to improve their skills. Don Donato leads the workshop.

McCarter Live at the Library: “The Age of Innocence”

McCarter Theatre Center’s Resident Producer Debbie Bisno is joined by celebrated playwright and screenwriter Douglas McGrath (Princeton University ’80) and Tony Award-winning director Doug Hughes to discuss the creative and collaborative journey of their world-premiere production of Edith Wharton’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "The Age of Innocence," adapted by McGrath. The production opens McCarter’s 2018-2019 Season. Co-sponsored by the library and McCarter Theatre Center.

Learn English at the Library Class – Skills Assessment Session

Those interested in a free, 14-week course covering basic English for everyday living in the United states are required to attend this skills assessment session.
