The Princeton Festival: Making of a Musical

Saturday, May 23, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

“Making of a Musical” is a pre-professional workshop for high school singers designed to help young people learn how to take care of their voices, understand what is required to be a professional singer, and show how their goal can be achieved. Space is limited to 15 students, and registration is required. Click here to register through the Princeton Festival website.

The program has three components, and participants are required to attend all three to earn a certificate of participation. The intensive workshop on May 23 covers singing and care of the voice, practical tips on how to navigate the music theater industry and other topics. There will be a mock audition at the end of the workshop where participants can demonstrate what they’ve learned. Lunch and snacks are included.

In addition, participants will observe professional actor/singers at a tech rehearsal on Saturday, May 30, and experience the full show at the final dress rehearsal for the Princeton Festival production of “Into the Woods” on Thursday, June 4.

Co-sponsored by the library and The Princeton Festival.
