“The Looming Tower” Screening: Episode 1

December 13 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Episode 1: Now It Begins… Follow the rivalry between the counter-terrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA, which may have inadvertently led to the tragedy of 9/11. In episode 101, FBI agent John O’Neill and a rookie Muslim-American agent, Ali Soufan, press the CIA for information.

Based on “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11,” the Pulitzer-Prize winning book by Lawrence Wright, this 10-episode series traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s and how the rivalry between the FBI and CIA during that time may have inadvertently set the path for the tragedy of 9/11. The series follows the counter-terrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA as they travel the world fighting for ownership of information while seemingly working toward the same goal – preventing an imminent attack on U.S. soil.
