Poets at the Library

Featured poets Anna M. Evans and Kim Bridgford read from their work for 20 minutes each, followed by an open-mic session.

Anna M. Evans’ poems have appeared in the Harvard ReviewAtlanta ReviewRattle, American Arts Quarterly, and 32 Poems. She gained her MFA from Bennington College. Recipient of Fellowships from the MacDowell Artists’ Colony and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and winner of the 2012 Rattle Poetry Prize Readers’ Choice Award, she currently teaches at West Windsor Art Center and Rowan College at Burlington County. Her new collection, Under Dark Waters: Surviving the Titanic, is out now from Able Muse Press, and her sonnet collection, Sisters & Courtesans, is available from White Violet Press.

 

 

Kim Bridgford is the director of Poetry by the Sea and the editor of Mezzo Cammin. The author of thirteen books, including a new book on Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, she is the recipient of grants from the NEA, the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, and the Ucross Foundation.  With photographer Jo Yarrington, she recently completed a three-volume series on Iceland, Venezuela, and Bhutan.  With Russell Goings, she rang the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange, in celebration of his book The Children of Children Keep Coming, for which she wrote the introduction.
