Poets at the Library

Featured poets Corey Langer and Adina Langer read for 20 minutes from their works, followed by an open-mic session.

Corey J. Langer, MD, FACP is a Professor of Medicine in the Hematology/Oncology Division at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he serves as Director of Thoracic Oncology in the Abramson Cancer Center.

Corey’s one extracurricular activity is poetry.  He is the past and current President of Delaware Valley Poets (DVP), which he joined in 1994 after interacting with its members at Communiversity in Princeton.  He has had his poems published in Stylus, US 1, Edison Literary Review, Annals of Internal Medicine, Oncology Times, Identity Theory, and Quick and Dirty Poets, and in several anthologies including Brooklines, Thatchwork, and A Different Latitude.

He is married and resides in Princeton Junction, NJ with his wife Mindy, a retired pediatrician. He has two children, Adina and Micah.

Adina Langer grew up in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. She has a B.A. in history and creative writing from Oberlin College and an M.A. in archives and public history from New York University. When not working as the curator of the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University or helping to knit together a life in Decatur, Georgia, with her husband and two young children, Adina finds time to write poetry. She has poems published in U.S. 1, Edison Literary Review, Enchiridion, and the Plum Creek Review among others. She is the 2006 recipient of an honorable mention in the Academy of American Poets Stuart Friebert Poetry Prize.
