Local Author Day 2017

March 25, 2017, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Our eighth annual Local Author Day features two morning workshops for writers followed by a local author fair.

The day’s first workshop will be led by the writing duo of Loretta and Fred Wish who lead the library’s bi-monthly Writers Room. Their workshop, Collaboration: Maximizing the Results While Minimizing the Headaches, begins at 9:30 a.m.

The day’s second workshop, Is Episodic Fiction the Future of Publishing, will be led by author/teacher K. Edwin Fritz beginning at 10:30 a.m.

At 1 p.m., more than 35 area authors will participate in an afternoon author fair in the Community Room. The author fair is a chance for authors to display and sign their books and interact with readers. It is also a chance for authors to network and interact with each other.

Featured authors Hester YoungHannah Brooke HoffmanJoel Hammon and Carol J. Binkowski will read from their works in the lobby throughout the three-hour event.

As a warm up to Local Author Day, the library will host a series of readings on Friday evening at 7 pm in the community room and we will conclude our celebration of the local writing community with the annual release party for US1 Worksheets on Sunday afternoon.

Support area authors all weekend long and remember to READ LOCAL!
