Job Seekers Session: “Staying Motivated In The Job Search”

Larry Finkelstein will provide insights from his new book, “And Then I Painted the Garage”.

After 30+ years as career counselor and psychotherapist, Larry will discuss the common factors that exist in every population seeking employment and the techniques that he uses to help prepare and keep people motivated until they land a job.
These techniques include cognitive-behavioral therapy, assertiveness training, reframing, as well as lessons from Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”

Learning Outcomes:
Using the 7 Habits paradigm as a model for a job search
Specific techniques to maintain focus during the search
Overcoming anxiety and depression
