Members of Not In Our Town Princeton, an interracial and interfaith social action group, facilitate these discussions of race-related issues of relevance to our community and nation.
Tonight’s topic: Reparations – Because America was Built on the Backs of Slaves
The historical exploitation of Black bodies and the structural exclusion of Blacks from benefiting or sharing in the very wealth they created for America were neither accidental nor incidental, but intentional and foundational. Since the consequences are still with us today, we must also be intentional and engage in conversations that explore ways in which our nation can begin to repair the wrongs of slavery, redress historical exclusions and oppression and heal.
