A Celebration of Companion Animals with Patrick McDonnell

May 13, 2017, 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Patrick McDonnell, MUTTS Cartoonist, will discuss the reasons he is so committed to helping homeless animals. He will also read from his recent collaboration with poet Daniel Ladinsky, “Darling I Love You,” a book celebrating the bond we share with our pets, and discuss his newly updated book “MUTTS Shelter Stories: Love. Guaranteed.”

A panel moderated by Kathy Schatzmann of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and featuring Brian Hacket (HSUS NJ State Director), Patrick McDonnell, Jeff Campbell (author), and Heather Cammisa (St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center) will follow.

After the discussion, join us on the plaza where a selection of Patrick McDonnell’s books provided by jaZams will be available for purchase and signing. Local animal welfare groups with adoptable pets will be on site too, with representatives from some of NJ’s leading animal shelters, which include St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, SAVE-A Friend to Homeless Animals, Monmouth County SPCA, and the Camden County Animal Shelter.

Share photos of your pets and stories about them on Instagram using the #PrincetonLovesPets tag.

Come out and enjoy the day. Maybe you’ll meet your new best friend!
