“Call Me William”: Willa Cather: Her Life and Loves

October 14 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Event Navigation

Written and performed by Prudence Wright Holmes, this one-woman show is the story of the personal life of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author. The show traces her humble beginnings in a small prairie town in Nebraska, through her career as an acclaimed journalist and friend of Mark Twain, to becoming the second woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1923. Brilliant and supremely confident, Cather once said “Being a woman never damaged my ambition to become Pope or Emperor.” Community Room
