Friends Book Sales
Annual Book Sale
The next Friends Annual Book Sale will be held from Friday, May 1, 2020 through Sunday May 3, 2020. Mark your calendars!
Thank you to everyone who came to our 2019 Annual Sale and made it such a success.
The Friends of the Princeton Public Library run an amazing used Bookstore on the ground floor of the library. Open to everyone during library hours, the store offers a wide selection of books, ranging from children’s early readers to thrillers to philosophical treatises. Books are added daily, so if you are looking for a beach read or that rare, out-of-print title, be sure to come in and browse for a bargain. Every purchase supports the library!
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team of book lovers who sort and price donated books, stock the Bookstore or help out at our sales.
If you would like to know more about volunteering opportunities, please contact the Friends Book Sale Manager by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 609.924.9529 ext.1227.
Book Donations: recycle knowledge!
|The Friends need book donations to fill the tables at our Sales and keep the Bookstore shelves stocked with treasures. Although we welcome your books, CDs and DVDs throughout the year, we normally do not accept donations in the days leading up to our big Spring Sale, and notices are placed on the website and at the library in advance.
We gladly accept books, CDs and DVDs in good condition, and can provide a tax receipt for all donations. Please pack items in sturdy bags or boxes, or tie them securely with string, and bring them to the lending desk, or deliver them to the back door on Sylvia Beach Way and ring the bell for assistance whenever the library is open.
We have a few rules and exceptions: If you have more than 12 boxes of books, we need a little more information and notice, so please contact the Friends Book Sale Manager by email email@example.com or by phone 609.924.9529 ext.1227.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept
- Badly worn, marked up, stained, musty or moldy items
- Magazines or journals
- VHS or cassette tapes, computer games or vinyl records
- Computer, business, finance, health or travel guides which are more than 3 years old
The Friends of the Princeton Public Library try to find a new home for each of the thousands of books donated to our Bookstore and Sales. These generous donations are the key to a successful retail operation, which raised about $150,000 for the library last year. Not every book finds its way to the shelves of our store, but, being book lovers ourselves, we make every effort to find a reader for each book.
