Contribute Your Time and Your Talents

Volunteering can be a satisfying way to invest your time and energy and use your special skills.

If you can contribute at least two hours a week for at least six consecutive months, the Friends of the Library's Volunteer Coordinator will try to find an appropriate volunteer opportunity for you.

Please download and print the Library Volunteer Application Form [pdf]. Fill it out and drop it off at the Welcome Desk on the first floor of the Library or fax it to 609-924-7937. You may also mail it to Princeton Public Library, Volunteer Coordinator, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton, NJ 08540.

After your completed form has been received, the Volunteer Coordinator will call you to arrange an interview.

Examples of volunteer opportunities:
  • Maintain the community information display and distribution area
  • Shelve books and keep books in order
  • Work in the Library Store
  • Assist with the summer reading club and outreach efforts
  • Help students with their homework as part of the Springboard After-School Program
  • Maintain the Library’s scrapbook of press coverage and photos
  • Assist with self checkout
