We have recently added another exciting resource to the Youth Services Digital Collection.

    Readers, start your engines

At this time of year librarians are full of excitement and book fever. That's because in spring and early summer two of the biggest book and library conferences occur: Book Expo and the American Library Association Annual Conference. We've been busy meeting authors, listening to publishers and sharing our ideas about the new books of the year.

    children, language

Learning a new language is a popular sport in Princeton, for adults as well as children. We now have a new digital kid on the block to help teach languages to children.

Muzzy has been a very popular leader in its field for years. So, it is not a new name to experts and users of language programs for children. Created by the BBC, it has been an award- winning product at the top of its game for a long time. What is new is the digital format.

    Princeton's secret weapon

You are looking at one of the most powerful reading super heroes available in the modern world. Hyperbole aside, there is a little magic and super-heroism in the job that Emma and her owner Joe Turner do for us at the Princeton Public Library. They are our very own Reading Therapy Dog team and they provide an important and heartwarming service to our younger patrons. For children struggling to read, a therapy dog such as Emma can help break a cycle of frustration and failure.

    Princeton is rich with treasure

There are many kinds of treasure and Princeton is rich with many of them. But, among the most precious of these are the living treasures. The people who share their exceptional knowledge, their art, their experiences make this town one of the richest and most desirable in the country (we also like to brag).

I can't wait to read that

I recently spent three days doing something I absolutely love to do, which is to head over to JWMS to talk to the kids about what they are reading and to book talk the 2013 Garden State Teen Book Award Nominees for Middle School.
