There’s more to it than simply putting books on shelves…

The library’s shelving staff play an important role in helping to create a superior customer experience.

The ideal candidate for this position is friendly and approachable, likes to assist customers with general inquires, is able to shelve books and media, and can maintain shelf order of the library’s circulating and non-circulating collections.

This highly visible position requires an individual who is enthusiastic, able to communicate effectively with a diverse population and is committed to customer service. Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to shelve and file library materials by alphanumeric codes is also required.

Shelving experience is not a requirement; however a positive “can do” attitude is. Customer service experience is desirable.

Schedule:

  • 12 -16 hours per week, approximately
  • weekday mornings primarily– some weekend and evening availability is desirable
